Wreaths

This struck me as a distinctive American feature as i looked at front doors ...
All year round wreaths of different styles/colours/shapes and sizes adorn the doors of even the simplest homes. i have decided i like this but it wouldn't work at home...they would be stolen...i have since been told that this is an amusing and rediculous - definately different is all i can say!

Ha ha! This is an amusing observation that I wouldn't have known about Americans unless commented on by our distinguished British friend! I just hung my Easter wreath!
I think we have some sort of nostalgic idea that our Colonial ancestors had these hanging on their front doors to welcome strangers-I think the tradition started in Modern Williamsburg-when in reality, they would have thought it ridiculous to hang plant life up at all!

Maybe the colonials were trying to ward of the brits (during the war). They do seem to have a negative effect on them.

That's my brother, and I love him dearly.
